We used
textbooks and work books
To include
primary sources of materials and manipulative materials.
Adhered
to a fixed curriculum
To pursue
students questions and interests.
Assessed
through testing and correct answers
Assessment
should include students observation, points of view and testing as well. That
is applying constructivism .
Made Students
work primarily alone
Let students
work in groups.
Had our
role as the the source of knowledge
Should let
learning be interactive.
Used repetitive
learning
Learning
should be interactive, building on what the student s already knows.

Good comparisons Julius.
ReplyDeleteGroup work is the the way go. Thanks Julius. However, I will tell you a story of a class of 7 students where, it was divided into two groups one comprising of 6 members and the other group of one person and given an assignment of drawing a horse. The group of 6 drew a camel (because they failed to agree on how the neck should be) and the other group drew a horse. Food for thought!
ReplyDeleteAh, interesting story, groups have to be monitored ! Thanks.
ReplyDeleteOh yes Mukama students already have the knowledge all we have to do is build on it using the experience in the environment we all live.
